In August 2018 the school has developed a teaching Academy to augment the excellent hospital experience the training programme has always provided. ST1s will rotate through the Academy for 4 month blocks, being taught imaging by a wide range of regional experts. The remainder of the teaching programme for ST1-3 is focused on preparation for the Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists Part 1 and 2A examinations.

The ST4 and 5 programme aims to address wider issues of professional development and preparation for consultant posts.

In addition trainees are encouraged to undertake post-graduate qualifications, including formal teaching accreditation via Edge Hill University and Leadership training - often undertaken at Keele University.

Details of programme content and timetables will become available later in the year.

Ms Marion Philbin is responsible for the organising and administration of the whole North West Teaching programme and should be contacted with enquiries.
